Hey guys~! Can you believe it? One year has already passed, and we're done with junior year. I'm honestly quite scared for senior year. I'm getting anxiety attacks from just thinking about it. But I'm also super excited for senior year! We're almost done with high school!! Isn't that amazing?! I have so much I want to talk about but I don't know where to begin D: OH-KAY. LET'S SEE...hm. I guess I'll start with what I've been doing for this past month. I've been taking my EMT class and I've been interning at UMDNJ (5 days a week ;A;). My EMT class is going okay, I failed a test, but I passed the re-test. Everything seems to be going smoothly. As for my internship, that too is going smoothly. If all goes well, I'll be a co-author for a paper that may be published in a scientific journal. >O< very very excited about that. I haven't been able to go out with my friends very often, or leave the house at all really because Monday to Friday I'm not at home until 10:00, and the earliest I get home (thursdays and fridays) is 5:00 or 6:00. Very very tired. But Saturdays, I'm free after 2:00 and Sundays are my rest days when I have nothing to do. I really love Sundays now. But I am having fun with all of my activities~! Although I wish I could hang out with friends more. Which is why one of my goals for senior year is to hang out with friends more~! :D I'm really hoping that it's okay for me to join Miki's high school's K-pop Dance Club because I'd really like to do it >O< Next week, I will be volunteering at my high school (for leadership hours) because we have this thing called Biotech Boot Camp where we teach the incoming freshmen some things that they will be using and learning as freshmen. It's actually quite fun, I've heard so I am very excited for this. Also, I'll get to hang out with my biology teacher, who I really admire. I have finish writing my senior thesis as well since those are due at the beginning of October and I'm also starting to write my college essays. le sigh~ so much work. But I really hope that all of my hard work pays off in the end. I'm retaking my SAT II Math 2 in October so I'm starting to study for that as well.
Moving on from academics to personal stuff. I've been taking better care of my skin lately. I wash my face every 4 to 6 hours, which may seem excessive, but my face produces A LOT of oil, and it's better for me to wash away the oil than to let it sit on my face all day until night time. I think my skin is getting better, but who knows. Some of the pimples seem to have diminished and my face feels smoother than before. I hope I don't jinx it, so I am knocking on wood >O< I've been liking my new facial wash, but I don't use a lotion or moisturizer and all the ones I've tried have made me break out so now my face is really dry. *UPDATE* I'm gonna try using just aloe vera as a moisturizer and see how that works out. But even still, do you guys have any advice/suggestions for me? Also with my hair, I've finally found a hairstyle I really love. And thanks to my hair extensions, I can make the illusion of longer hair~!!! As seen in my photo that I posted, that is the hairstyle that I will be sporting for senior year everyday. I know it seems like a lot of work with all the curls and all, but really, it doesn't take very long, maybe fifteen minutes maximum which is fine because I can take showers at night and then style my hair in the morning. What do you guys think of my hair? yay or nay. Also, I really love my makeup because it hides all my acne and imperfections, but I will be abstaining from that. I've found that the foundation clogs my pores and causes pimples, and I'd rather not deal with that. I'd much rather take good care of my skin and get rid of the pimples than try to cover it up with makeup. Of course I'll still wear eye makeup, but not on a daily basis I think because it'll wash off when I wash my face throughout the day and just look like a hot mess. I'm actually not wearing any makeup in the photo, so you can kind of see my bare face. I did of course put a filter on the photo, so it does sort of blur my scars and pimples, but not by much.
Moving on to leisure and what I've been doing with my free time, I've been reading two books (one of them is my summer reading, and the other is for pleasure). The book I'm reading for fun is called The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera (Czech). It's quite....deep? I'm not sure how to describe it. I'm not even halfway done with it yet, but I am enjoying it very much. It's not a very happy read, really. It's more emotional and it makes you think about what you would do with your one life. It's a very "you only live once...or do you?" type of book. And it's centered around a complicated relationship between a man and woman. I'd highly recommend it if you enjoy those kinds of books. I've been reading it on the bus ride to and from Newark. The other book is called Incognito: the secret lives of the brain by David Eagleman. IT IS AMAZING. it's a very scientific/philosophical/psychological book, but it is so good! I really can't describe it, you would have to read it. ^O^ Besides books, as you know, I've been practicing my flute. I'm slowly learning a variety of songs and I am really enjoying it. You guys will probably think I'm very crazy/materialistic when I tell you this, BUT....I bought a new flute. It's Gemeinhardt and was very expensive, but it plays beautifully. I think I made a logical decision when I bought it though. My old flute by Edwards was broken, legitimately broken. Half the notes didn't play, the pads were wearing thin, air was leaking when I blew through the embouchure. It was just old and in terrible condition. And I really wanted to continue playing flute because it is my favorite instrument out of all the ones I know how to play. So I talked with my dad and mom, and they bought one for me (with my own money of course. they just ordered in online for me). Anyways, I am very pleased with my new flute. ^^
I think that's all for now, this is a ridiculously long post.
Mika, next year we're SENIORS~! We're in charge of the building so don't worry, I'll definitely find a way to get you into our Kpop performance :D I feel like at this point we really are just finishing up, and once college apps are done, we're officially free~~~ \(^O^)/ YAY~
ReplyDeleteAs for your hair, I think it's really cute o(^-^)o Now all you have to do is wait for it to grow out longer so you don't have to deal with extensions :3 Mika, sometimes you really are a motivation for me to get working, especially when it comes to taking better care of myself ahaha xD
